So after waiting the 20 minutes I shampooed/conditioned as normal and then let my hair air dry. The smell was not bad like when you dye your hair but it also was not a flowery hair mask/shampoo type smell. The glaze was pearly white and thin with a chemical-type smell. Pour it into your hand, smooth it into your hair until you can no longer feel any dry spots, wash your hands and then wait out the timer. So other than looking like a drowned rat, application is really easy. The weekly application is to apply the product to dry hair until it is thoroughly saturated, wait 20 min, then wash and condition as normal. Being my normal lazy routine self I decided to try the once a week method. So application-wise there is 2 different methods: Every time you wash your hair or once a week. The bottle was a nice size and the large top made it easy to open. At $10 a bottle, I felt comfortable taking the hit to the wallet if it didn’t work and it seemed to have decent reviews. John Frieda’s Luminous Glaze makes the claim that it will intensify shine and dramatically smooth the texture. John Frieda’s glaze seemed to fit the requirements while not being prohibitively expensive. To help me get past the urge I went on the hunt for something cheap and easy I could use that still felt like a treatment. I usually dye it fairly often but after cutting out the last of the more serious damage from dying my hair blonde I’d like to get my hair back to it’s natural color ( very dirty blonde). Over the last few months I have been trying to resist the temptation to color my hair again. Left to right: All pulled to the front (it’s so thin! lol), back, back w/flash (yes that’s my scalp in the top left, I have no hair!)Īs you can see it is not thick, smooth, or shiny. My hair under normal conditions (shampoo, conditioner, hair mask 1x a week, and always air-drying): That isn’t to say I wouldn’t love to have soft, luxurious, shiny hair, just the amount of upkeep required to even get it half decent is beyond my capability. It has been relegated to the realm of ponytail and bun. The upkeep required to keep it a color I want is insane and the amount of effort required to make it have the slightest curl is enormous. We’ve moved! Feel free to hang out and poke around here, but all the NEW, PRETTY, FUN STUFF is now located at !Īfter many years of putting my hair through hell trying to keep it a color I like, I have come to the conclusion that it will never look the way I want it to.
